“The Unsearchable Riches of Christ”: e-Devotions for All of 2023

Your personal invitation from Steve Hall

Hi, dear friends of CHRIST NOW!

I invite you to share in something I’ve been working on for the past few years that might be encouraging for you and others in your spheres of influence. It offers a simple way for you to live out 2023 growing in your vision of the greatness of Jesus. And I offer it to you freely, without cost.

First, a little history:

For many years, I have been eager to know (and live in) the Lord Jesus Christ more and more and do what I can to help other believers do so too.

During the past 46 or so years as a believer in Jesus, I have read through the Bible many times and also read many books and commentaries about Christ. In 2021, I found about 160 Scripture passages—half in the Old Testament and half in the New Testament—that either foretell (OT passages) His greatness or demonstrate/proclaim (NT passages) His greatness.

I wrote prayers for each of the passages, thanking the Father for the aspects of Christ in them, exalting Christ, and praying that I, along with all believers and multitudes of the lost around us, will soon know the vastness of Christ, love Him more, surrender ourselves wholly to Him, live in His fullness, and speak of Him continually. I sent those passages and prayers out to some people throughout 2021.

A recent discovery: A couple months ago, as I was preparing to facilitate a Zoom prayer gathering for an American CHRIST Awakening, I came across the Apostle Paul’s statement in Ephesians 3:8 that Paul had the privilege of preaching the unsearchable riches of Christ.” That phrase really hit me! Since then, the Holy Spirit has been giving me an insatiable hunger to be immersed in ALL those unsearchable riches of Christ for myself.

I looked at all the ways this phrase, “the unsearchable riches of Christ,” has been translated in various modern translations with words such as these: unfathomable riches; unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, exhaustless) riches; infinite riches; endless treasures; inexhaustible riches and generosity—and that’s just a start!

Imagine this: What could individual congregations—the Church of various communities in the United States, Canada, the Philippines, or ALL nations—become if we all would “live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28) in the unsearchable riches of Christ?

That’s why I am writing “The Unsearchable Riches of Christ” e-devotions. I want to encourage us to grow in that magnificent way of life throughout 2023.

Here’s how this can work for you: Beginning as soon as you sign up and then every third day after that, I’ll email you a Bible scripture and prayer for you to contemplate. All year long, you will receive one devotion based on an Old Testament passage followed by two from the New Testament, each on the third day after the previous one.

This gift is totally free. To SUBSCRIBE to receive
“The Unsearchable Riches of Christ” e-devotions:
  • Send an email to David.Bryant@ChristNow.com requesting to receive them.
  • In the subject line, write “The Unsearchable Riches of Christ.” THAT’S ALL!

Of course, you are welcome to UNSUBSCRIBE at any time.

A sample of one of these e-devotions from the Old Testament appears below.

Forward this invitation to others. Invite them to join you on this journey. They can sign up the same way.

I pray this tool will help you and your families, churches, and small groups become more awakened to and consumed with the Lord Jesus Christ and His unsearchable riches for you.

“The UNSEARCHABLE RICHES OF CHRIST”

Genesis 28:10-15 / God’s Covenant with Jacob

Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Haran. When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. There above it [the stairway] stood the LORD, and he said: “I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

Prayer

Dear Father, I love this dream You gave Jacob. I am very glad You revealed to him that it is possible for people to have a personal relationship with You.

And I am especially glad that the pathway (stairway) making that relationship possible between Your holiness and my sinful life is Jesus!

I praise Him that He alone is the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me [Him] (John 14:6)! And I praise Him for what He said in John 1:51: “I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

When I think of the covenant You made with Jacob and his descendants, that they would be as numerous as the dust of the earth and all peoples would be blessed through them, I am eternally grateful to be one of Jesus’ spiritual descendants. May we too be as many as the dust of the earth and be used by Him to bless all the peoples of the earth.

All glory to Jesus that You gave Him all authority in heaven and earth to make disciples of all nations and that He is with us to the end of the age! I pray this in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
