The celebration of two historic events coincided with Easter weekend in 2025.
Both affected the course of nations.
On Saturday, April 19, modern patriots gathered in New England to commemorate the anniversary of the American Revolution by reenacting the opening engagements at Lexington and Concord. The gunfire between the British troops and American colonists is often referred to as “the shot heard ‘round the world.” Eventually, the uprising that began there culminated in the founding of America, which has brought 250 years of global transformations.
The next day, on Easter Sunday, millions across our land gathered to celebrate another engagement that had far more crucial consequences—when Jesus confronted our greatest enemy and prevailed! This won everlasting freedom from sin, evil powers, and death through a personal relationship with the risen, reigning Son of God for all peoples who trust in Christ—including Americans!
We might say his resurrection was the shot heard throughout the universe for all eternity!
Today, sustaining the results of the first American Revolution is at risk.
Today, a second revolution—a spiritual one—is desperately needed.
Today, this NEW American Revolution will require resurrection power.
Today, America’s only hope is an awakening to the risen, reigning Christ.

This NEW American Revolution must begin inside the Church. It must overthrow the status quo in our churches through a dynamic, God-given, Christward revival. It is returning to and rallying around God’s Son for ALL he is, setting God’s people free to serve our Savior’s liberating kingdom purposes.
This NEW American Revolution is a revolution of revelation. It is nothing less than a fresh outpouring of the Spirit that is awakening Jesus followers and giving them a much larger vision of all he is reigning over from the throne. It’s about Christians of every stripe becoming newly alive to the greatness and goodness, the kingship and compassion, and the supremacy and saving power of the Lamb of God.
But is a NEW American Revolution—an American CHRIST Awakening—

Absolutely! Let me show you why.
It is needed for the nation. America is currently in unprecedented political, social, moral, economic, and cultural upheaval. Multitudes of Americans, right and left, have become more divisive and divided, more resentful and revengeful, all too frequently hating and being hated—unlike any time since the great Civil War in the 1860s. Plus, multitudes live in fear—fear of our fellow Americans, fear about the future of our nation, and fear about our personal and financial security. Many feel as if the world’s greatest democracy is collapsing right before our eyes.
It is needed for the Church. As our nation struggles, even more disturbing is the fact that many of our churches are dying, as documented by multiple research reports.Current findings confirm that millions have already walked out of our congregations. In many cases, we’re told, they are leaving because they can no longer tolerate the political and cultural arguments and the bitterness and bickering springing up among them. Many more tell us they are looking at other sources because they feel they’re not being fed spiritually among Christians.
For example, a one-year report published on Easter Sunday, 2025, revealed that 70% of all Americans are seeking a meaningful spiritual reality in their lives but are not finding it, especially within our churches.
Last month, additional research found that 60% of ALL teens are open to learning more about Jesus but not open to the Church. In fact, the younger generation is the segment of our population most disillusioned with an empty Christianity—though, interestingly, they are not disenchanted with the person of Christ himself.
The handwriting is on the wall. What if the American Church continues down this path—especially within the tens of thousands of congregations that have become so “politicized” in the past decade that they find themselves on the very cusp of what the Bible means by “idolatry”?
Not only are God’s people forfeiting much of the dynamic life in Christ they might have otherwise enjoyed together, but also, the impact of our gospel witness is significantly diminishing. This tragedy is happening at just the moment when the whole nation desperately needs to hear anew about the saving power and glorious lordship of Jesus Christ TODAY to reverse its descent into disarray and darkness, both spiritual and moral.
It’s the greatest crisis. Here at Proclaim Hope!, we are convinced that all these heartbreaking developments—in the Church and in our nation—are fundamentally due to a long-term, persistent, pervasive deficiency among our nation’s Christians. For 25 years, our ministry has defined it as a “crisis of Christology.” Unfortunately, its fruits are manifesting today in far more debilitating and destructive ways than I could have imagined when I first started warning and writing about it.
These are the marks of the crisis. This crisis is marked by a dramatic, deadly shortfall in how many of God’s people in our land truly see the greatness of Jesus, seek more of the glory of Jesus, savor our worship of Jesus, and speak boldly about the saving wonders of Jesus.
Confronting and curing the “crisis of Christology” is what makes the message and ministry of Proclaim Hope/Christ Now revolutionary! This is why our labors to foster and serve an American CHRIST Awakening are, at the same time, a call for a NEW American Revolution. They are two sides of the same coin.
This NEW American Revolution can begin right now! Inside churches across our land, we could soon witness a radical, Spirit-given awakening to the risen and reigning Lord Jesus Christ. In turn, this would empower the whole Church to spread the whole gospel in a way that would transform the current landscape of our nation in a thousand different ways. From what we’ve witnessed in major Christ Awakenings in the past 2000 years, there’s nothing unrealistic about this ambitious vision. With God, all things are possible!
We believe that, beginning in 2025, our mission has entered into the prime hour for which it was created. At Proclaim Hope/Christ Now, we have stayed the course all these years for such a time as this. We have consistently focused
on raising up movements, revival, reformation, and “new beginnings” that revolve around a powerful awakening to the spectacular supremacy of God’s Son in everything. Without a doubt, this is evidence of God’s sovereign hand upon us.

NEVER has our message and mission—backed by our vast variety of resources—been needed in the life of America more than it is today. In fact, the table is being set for all we have to offer the Body of Christ—and the nation—in this time of many crises.
As far as I know, no other Christian ministry in the USA has taken on this kind of commitment for a Christocentric NEW American Revolution—nor do I know any that come even close to possessing the potential we hold for unleashing a rapid, widespread ministry to Christians hungry for more of Christ and the fullness of his risen, reigning life.
To this very day, our team is pulling out all the stops to bring this about—primarily by proactively recruiting CAST facilitators to mobilize an awakening at the grassroots.
Where does our current emphasis on raising up CASTs fit in? We see Christ Awakening Servant Teams (CASTs) as little “pockets of revolution”—called to foster this “revolution of revelation”—planted strategically inside local bodies across the land.
Following the game plan presented in our online training and Christ Now resources, CASTs are designed to “overthrow the spiritual status quo” in their own congregations by sharing among fellow believers a Holy Spirit-given vision of the risen, reigning Lord Jesus Christ for ALL he is.
The CAST motto states we are to “Awaken Christians more fully to the person of Christ by increasing their conversations about the glories of Christ.”
