Video: How do spiritual warfare and martyrdom reveal more of him?

Session 7: Awake to Who Christ Is THROUGH Us

“Who do you say that I am?” – Matthew 16:15

In this session, David helps us investigate how Christ’s reign is manifested as his Spirit works through his Church to reach with the Gospel the unloved, disinherited, oppressed, impoverished and, above all, unreached, whether neighbors or nations.

Jesus reigns as he empowers his people to further the Gospel ministry worldwide. Concerning this dimension of Christ’s reign through his followers, Paul writes about “the commission God gave me … to make known among the nations the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ … to this end I labor, struggling with all His energy he so powerfully works in me” (Colossians 1).

Christ scatters the strongholds of dark powers as he brings God’s purposes to their ordained climax. Our mission advance, even when it involves suffering for Christ, is all about experiencing the victorious supremacy of Christ now.

Video 7:4 – How do spiritual warfare and martyrdom reveal more of him?

Bible Focus:
"'Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.'" - Mark 13:8-11

After Completing Your Video:

Pause: Spend a minute in silence, reflecting on today’s teaching. What was the most meaningful part for you? How did it speak to you?

Reflect: In what ways did today's teaching video give you greater reasons to put your hope in Christ alone -- for your life, for your church, for your generation? As well as for eternity?

Apply: What is one insight about the glory of Christ you gained today that you would like to share with one other believer before the day is over, in order to help that person gain a little bit larger vision of the greatness of Christ, too?

Pray: What would you like ask the Father to do in your life by His Spirit that would deepen some facet of your relationship to His glorious Son?
