Video: What is significant about Christ as my identity and destiny?

Session 2: Awake to Who Christ Is TO Us

“Who do you say that I am?” – Matthew 16:15

In this session, David explores how Christ’s supremacy is eternally rooted in his deity, his nature, his character, as well as his Trinitarian existence as the Son of the Father.

Jesus is the embodiment and fulfillment of all the purposes, prophecies and promises of Scripture. In Christ we see the fullest display of God’s holiness, love, righteousness, justice, compassion – as well as God’s commitment to the reclamation of His whole creation along with all who trust in him.

Jesus said, “He who has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14). Colossians 1 tells us, “Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation….” There’s nothing God wants to reveal to us about himself beyond who Jesus is. It’s all to be seen in Christ supreme.

Video 2:6 – What is significant about Christ as my identity and destiny?

Bible Focus:
"He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory."
- Ephesians 1:9-12

After Completing Your Video:

Pause: Spend a minute in silence, reflecting on today’s teaching. What was the most meaningful part for you? How did it speak to you?

Reflect: In what ways did today's teaching video give you greater reasons to put your hope in Christ alone -- for your life, for your church, for your generation? As well as for eternity?

Apply: What is one insight about the glory of Christ you gained today that you would like to share with one other believer before the day is over, in order to help that person gain a little bit larger vision of the greatness of Christ, too?

Pray: What would you like ask the Father to do in your life by His Spirit that would deepen some facet of your relationship to His glorious Son?
