The Mighty Scepter

SCRIPTURE READING:
Psalm 110:1-7
The Lord says to my lord:
“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”
The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying,
“Rule in the midst of your enemies!”
Your troops will be willing
on your day of battle.
Arrayed in holy splendor,
your young men will come to you
like dew from the morning’s womb.
The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
“You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek.”
The Lord is at your right hand;
he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.
He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead
and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.
He will drink from a brook along the way,
and so he will lift his head high.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST by His reign could be called the Royal Rod in God’s hand.
Dear Father, I am humbled and thrilled that in this Psalm You declare that Your Son is the glorious priestly King. I rejoice that the ascended King is the Messiah and the Mighty Scepter, Who is sitting at Your right hand, ruling over all His followers, as well as over all His enemies. Hallelujah! You will not change Your mind about Christ’s supreme might and position. Hallelujah! He is forever omnipotent and victorious, and cannot be overcome by any force or power. I exalt Him that His rule and authority extend through the Church to make Him known to unsaved people around us who urgently need freedom in Him! I give all my allegiance to Him. And, I pray that my family members and all of His people will submit to His rule and reign. Please awaken us so stunningly to all the Mighty Scepter is that we must speak to everyone about His greatness. I am eager for the day when Christ’s enemies will be a footstool for His feet. I pray these things in His majestic name. Amen.
