SCRIPTURE READING:
Revelation 4:9-11

Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST has all the excellence and merit to deserve all of our praise.

Dear Father, I join the living creatures and the twenty-four elders in giving Christ, our Lord and God, all glory and honor. He alone created all things by the authority of His will, and He is most Worthy. I am continually in awe of the glorious Lord Jesus Christ as I remember Paul’s proclamation in Colossians 1:16-17, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” When I think of the immeasurable qualities, powers and attributes that comprise the Person of Christ, I again join John in bowing before Him: He is the same for all eternity, infinite in power, all holy and righteous, omniscient and omni-present, the great ruler and sustainer of all He created, all life and light, the Son of the Most High God and Son of Man, victorious over death and sin, the exact representation and fullness of You, the suffering servant, the peace that passes all understanding, and much more than I or anyone can imagine. I pray that You will help me and all of Christ’s followers to give our lives to knowing and living in the vastness of the One Who is Worthy, so we will lay our crowns before His throne and proclaim His worthiness without restraint. I pray these things in the name of our Lord and God. Amen.
