Jesus is…
The Word of Life

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete
Dear Father, I praise Jesus that He was with You from the beginning, and that as the Word of Life, He is the complete source and fountain of all life. This again reminds me of what John said in John 1:1-4 about Who Christ is: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of mankind.” I exalt the Word of Life that He is Your incarnate Son, Whom You sent to earth to reveal to mankind Who You are, and to fulfill all Your prophecies and promises. What an amazing privilege John and the other disciples had to hear the Word of Life with their physical ears, see Him with their eyes and touch Him with their hands. My heart leaps when I again read in John 1:14 what the disciples experienced in the Person of Jesus, the blessed Messiah: “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” I pray You will enable me to hear and see and touch the breadth and depth of the Word of Life, and to boldly proclaim Him to everyone You bring into my life. I ask these things in the name of Life, Jesus. Amen.
