Jesus is…
The Word of God

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
Dear Father, I wonder what glorious name is written on the Lord Jesus Christ that only You and He know. I can only imagine how great and expansive that name is. I am eager to know it and to worship Christ accordingly. At the same time, I delight in focusing today on His name, the Word of God (“Logos of God”). I praise Him that He is Your divine Son, Who was with You for all eternity. I honor Him for speaking the whole world into existence out of nothing, and for coming to earth to speak and demonstrate all that You want mankind to know about Yourself and Your kingdom. I exalt Him that He gave His life on the cross to fulfill Your Messianic word, then rose from death and ascended to heaven as eternal Conqueror. As I think about the robe the Word of God is dressed in, I am intrigued that the blood on it is what He shed for sinners, but it is also a foreshadowing of the colossal amount of blood that will be shed by the ungodly on the day that He and his army execute final judgment. I worship the Word of God that He will fulfill Isaiah 63:1-5 when He “treads the winepress” to satisfy Your wrath. I pray that You will reveal His supreme majesty to believers everywhere, so we will devote our highest attention and affection to Him. Urge us to fervently tell every lost person we know about Him before it’s too late. In His name I humbly pray these things. Amen.
