SCRIPTURE READING:
Micah 4:6-8
“In that day,” declares the Lord,
“I will gather the lame;
I will assemble the exiles
and those I have brought to grief.
I will make the lame my remnant,
those driven away a strong nation.
The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion
from that day and forever.
As for you, watchtower of the flock,
stronghold[a] of Daughter Zion,
the former dominion will be restored to you;
kingship will come to Daughter Jerusalem.”
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is a caring shepherd Who never ceases to watch and protect those who belong to Him.
Dear Father, I am grateful to You that the people of Israel, and all people around the world who have received Jesus as their Savior, have the wonderful promise of Him caring for us as the Watchtower of the Flock. I rejoice that we are the beloved sheep whom He gave His life for on the cross, so that we can have eternal life in Him. I exalt Him that His inexhaustible power, love, mercy, wisdom, compassion, peace and nourishment are constantly available to protect us from all our enemies and meet all of our needs, even when we are too feeble and broken to ask. I praise the Watchtower of the Flock that He is gigantically high and has perfect vision, so He is continually “watching” out for us, and He knows precisely what our needs are. I praise Him that He is all-wise to know exactly when and how to provide the shelter, rest and defense to all who are “weary and burdened” (Matthew 11:28). I am thrilled that we have the complete assurance of living in the dominion of His kingship forever. I pray that You will build a complete reliance upon the Watchtower of the Flock within me and multitudes of His other sheep. All our hope is in Him. I pray these things in His restoring name. Amen.
