The Spring of Living Water

SCRIPTURE READING:
Jeremiah 17:13
Lord, you are the hope of Israel;
all who forsake you will be put to shame.
Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust
because they have forsaken the Lord,
the spring of living water.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST quenches the deepest thirst of all who “drink” of Him by faith.
Dear Father, I am forever grateful that the Lord Jesus is the hope of Israel, and of all people who put their trust in Him. I never want to forsake Him or turn away from Him Who is the eternal Spring of Living Water. I marvel that in Him is all Your comfort, cleansing, purity, healing, love, saving mercy and peace. I delight that He is the cool, clear, ever-flowing, ever-refreshing source and sustainer of all life. I love Him because my unquenchable spiritual thirst can only be satisfied by Him. Please forgive me for all the times I have tried to be satisfied by anything or anyone else. As I sing the first verse of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” by Robert Robinson, I feel like I am being immersed in the Spring of Living Water: “Come thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace. Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, Mount of God’s unchanging love.” I pray that You will strongly urge me and the rest of Jesus’ followers to joyfully speak to one another about the wonders of the Spring of Living Water, and that we will overflow about Him to the many others we know who have not yet received Him. In the refreshing name of Jesus I ask these things. Amen.
