SCRIPTURE READING:
Colossians 1:13-14

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST, God’s only Son, is perfectly and infinitely loved by His Father.

Dear Father, What a precious name this is for Jesus—the Son He Loves (the Son of Your love). When I think of the all-encompassing, lavish love relationship that You and Your Son have had for each other for all eternity, I rejoice that Your mutual love is the foundation of Scripture and of the universe! I am exceedingly humbled that You love me and all people in the world so much that You were willing to give the Son You love for us. I joyfully return to a previous Scripture passage which ties all that love together: Ephesians 1:4b-6, “In love he [the Father] predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” Thank You that You rescued us from the dominion of darkness into Your Son’s kingdom. I pray that His followers throughout the world, including me, will fanatically love, honor, adore, cherish, obey, praise and speak to one another about the Son He Loves. May His love fill us now, and overflow as a tsunami onto the people around us who are spiritually lost and dying without Him. I pray these things in His beloved name. Amen.
