Jesus is…
The Sign of the Covenant

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”
Dear Father, I rejoice that Jesus ultimately fulfills Your covenant of grace and mercy, as the final and eternal Sign of the Covenant from You to all mankind. I am deeply grateful for the promise in Romans 3:22-24, “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. ”I pray that I and all other believers will bow in worship and humility before the Sign of the Covenant, and give Him every part of our lives. Please help us to be hungry (even famished) to know the depths and riches of the Sign of the Covenant. I pray that You will convict us of all ways we have taken Him for granted or given ourselves to other attractions. I pray these things in His most precious name. Amen.
