SCRIPTURE READING:
1 Chronicles 29:10-13

David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,

“Praise be to you, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST, by His rights as God’s risen Son, takes authority over everything in the universe.

Dear Father, As I read this praise by King David, I am reminded of what Paul wrote in Ephesians 1:19b-21 about Christ as Ruler of All Things: “That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule, and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.” I pray that Your Spirit will continually remind me, my family members, and the whole Church of today of the supreme authority, power and dominion of the Ruler of All Things. I pray we will revere Him, love Him, bow before Him, exalt Him, bless Him, adore Him, submit to His rule, serve Him and spread His fame wherever we go. Please convict us to repent of giving our allegiance to anything or anyone else above Christ. I pray also that You will put an urgent desire in the hearts and minds of many unsaved people to give their lives today to the Ruler of All Things. I pray these things in His majestic name. Amen.
