SCRIPTURE READING:
Deuteronomy 32:15-18
Jeshurun grew fat and kicked;
filled with food, they became heavy and sleek.
They abandoned the God who made them
and rejected the Rock their Savior.
They made him jealous with their foreign gods
and angered him with their detestable idols.
They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God—
gods they had not known,
gods that recently appeared,
gods your ancestors did not fear.
You deserted the Rock, who fathered you;
you forgot the God who gave you birth.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST personifies true and righteous strength and security.
Dear Father, I grieve also that the people of Israel and so many other people throughout history, including now, have rejected Jesus, the ultimate Rock Their Savior. Thank You for sending Jesus to be the Rock upon Which we can build our lives, if we receive Him as Savior. I shout, “Hallelujah,” that I can depend upon Jesus, the Rock, for all strength, security, wisdom, power, firmness, safety, truth, righteousness and infinitely more. I stand on Him, lean against Him, depend upon Him, am protected by Him, hold on to Him, and have absolute assurance that I am saved from the penalty of my sins through Him. I pray You will put an insatiable hunger in me and all other believers to know everything we possibly can about the Rock Their Savior, and that we will become consumed in the matchless Person of Jesus. May such a passion for Jesus overflow to all unsaved people we know that they will cry out to the Rock Their Savior for a relationship with Him too. I pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
