Jesus is…
The Righteousness of God

Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
Dear Father, I am forever glad that Jesus is the Righteousness of God (the Righteous-ness That Comes From God); He is the fullness of Your redeeming righteousness. I am so glad that His righteousness is for me, and for every other person of every status, ethnic origin, gender, age or geographic location. I pray that I and all who are already saved will abandon every part of our lives to the Righteousness of God, and continually grow in His matchless truth, holiness, purity, humility, grace, mercy, love, forgiveness, authority, suffering and all the other aspects of His righteousness. My heart’s desire is like Paul’s in today’s Scripture. I pray that unsaved people everywhere who have been trying to live by their own understanding of righteousness will ache to know Jesus, the Righteousness of God, and will wholly submit to salvation in Him. I pray for a sweeping movement of what Paul describes in 1 Timothy 1:15-16 happened to him: “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very rea-son I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.” All praise to Jesus! I give all these things to You in His righteous name. Amen.
