SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST initiates and completes our entire relationship with God.

Dear Father, There is nothing I want more than to join the great cloud of faithful wit-nesses in fixing my eyes upon Jesus, the Pioneer (Author) and Perfector (Finisher) of Faith. I honor Him that, as the Author of our faith, He is the supreme source, leader and prince of our faith, Who has always demonstrated absolute confidence and faith in You. As the Finisher of our faith there cannot possibly be anyone Who has a greater faith in You than He does—He has the finished (fully completed) relationship of faith with You. I rejoice that “for the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” With all my heart, I want to know all I possibly can about the Pioneer and Perfector of Faith, so that I will surrender my life completely to Him, and live in abandoned faith in Him and in You. I earnestly pray that You will help me and scores of other believers to very soon “throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” I pray these things in the faithful name of Jesus. Amen.
