SCRIPTURE READING:
Zechariah 12:10-11

“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST paid the ultimate price for us, even though it was our sins that nailed Him to the cross.

Dear Father, I am exceedingly grateful that one day Your Spirit is going to pour out grace-filled salvation and prayer on the Jewish people, and on all people. I honor the Messiah that the Jews especially will think about Him, the One They Have Pierced, and mourn and grieve for Him with all their hearts. I am thankful that they will weep in bitter repentance for the suffering the Savior did for them. I think of what King David prophesied about Christ’s horrible piercing in Psalm 22:16, “Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands, and my feet.” And, I rejoice that the suffering Christ will return to earth, as John speaks of in Revelation 1:7, “Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.” I humbly repent for the part that my sins have contributed to the suffering of the One They Have Pierced. I pray that You will continually search my heart and cleanse me of all unrighteous-ness. I pray You will bring a spirit of repentance, and at the same time, gratitude, into the whole Body of Christ. Please open the hearts and minds of millions of unsaved people around the world to repent for their sins and receive the freedom that the One They Have Pierced gave Himself for. In His name I ask these things. Amen.
