SCRIPTURE READING:
Ephesians 1:5-6

he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the One Who has the original love of the Father in Him.

Dear Father, I worship Jesus Christ, Your dearly beloved Son, the One He Loves (the One You love). That name/attribute of Christ fills my spirit with the greatest joy and hope, since it captures the core of the Godhead: perfect love for one another! I am so grateful that out of that great love You predestined me and all others who would be adopted as Your sons and daughters through Jesus. I am humbled, honored, in awe and overwhelmingly thankful that You have freely given us Your glorious grace through the precious One You love. It is a grace we did not deserve and never could have earned. I rejoice at how John’s testimony in 1 John 4:9-10 confirms that gift of grace: “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” I pray You will help us love Your Son as You love Him. I pray we will become deeply grateful for the glorious, life-giving grace You give us through Your Son. Help us to relinquish everything else in the world to live in that grace. I ask these things in the name of the One He Loves. Amen.
