The Mighty One of Jacob

Can plunder be taken from warriors,
or captives be rescued from the fierce?
But this is what the Lord says:
“Yes, captives will be taken from warriors,
and plunder retrieved from the fierce;
I will contend with those who contend with you,
and your children I will save.
I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh;
they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine.
Then all mankind will know
that I, the Lord, am your Savior,
your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
Dear Father, I exalt the Lord Jesus, the Savior and Redeemer of the world, that He is the awesome Mighty One of Jacob. I praise Him that He has all the power and might of the Godhead, Who has been the Mighty One of all our ancestors; He is the Mighty One now; and He will be the Mighty One for all eternity to come. I rejoice that He is greater than the devil and mightier than all others who try to oppress me and the rest of His followers. He is our Rescuer from their most fierce intentions. I am exceedingly grateful that Jesus, the mighty Conqueror, continually contends for us, and that He will save our children from spiritual and physical bondage. I say “Hallelujah” that Jesus is our Deliverer and our life. I love how Hebrews 2:14-15 confirms Jesus’ might in our lives: “Since the children have flesh and blood, he [Christ] too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.” May all His people, and multitudes who are currently lost without Him, freshly know of His supreme might, and live wholly under His lordship. I pray these things in the conquering name of the Mighty One of Jacob. Amen.
