SCRIPTURE READING:
Malachi 3:1
“I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST, by His Spirit, proclaims God’s promised redemption for all who believe.
Dear Father, I am amazed at all that You prophesied about Your Son, the Messiah, through today’s single verse in Malachi! I love to see how You summed up John the Baptist and all the prophets who foretold about the Messiah, as being the “messenger, who will prepare the way for me.” I rejoice in Your declaration that suddenly, the One Whom the people of Israel (and all people) have been earnestly seeking (the divine “LORD” Jehovah), has come, and will one day come back to earth to His temple. I praise the Messiah that He is God as You are God! I bow before Him that He is the same Jehovah Who appeared to Abraham and Jacob in Genesis, to Moses in the burning bush, and as the Shekinah in Exodus. I worship Him that He alone is the Messenger of the Covenant (the fulfillment of the New Covenant and every other covenant You have given to mankind). With all my being, I desire to know all I can about this incomparable Messenger of the Covenant. I pray that Your Spirit will give multitudes of other believers that fervent passion to know more of Him, and that we will eagerly “tell the world” about Him. In Christ’s splendid name I ask these things. Amen.
