SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 12:22-24

But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled bloodthat speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST fulfills God’s new covenant with His people.

Dear Father, I am overwhelmingly grateful that I am already a citizen with You in heaven (the city of the living God), as well as with tens of thousands of angels, the many other people who have previously died as believers in Christ, and, most importantly, Jesus the Mediator of a New Covenant. I rejoice that the old covenant and its mediator, Moses, are passed away, and that the new and immeasurably superior covenant is now in force for-ever because of the sprinkled blood of Jesus. Thank You for the powerful confirmation of this in Hebrews 8:6, “But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.” I praise Jesus, Who is superior as Your Son, the Creator of the heavens and earth, the Savior, the Redeemer and Messiah of all people, and also the Mediator of the New Covenant. I pray that Your Spirit will continually remind me and all believers of the greatness of Who the Mediator of a New Covenant is, and of the great value of our citizenship in heaven through Him. May we speak of His wonders with every breath You give us. I pray these things in His name. Amen.
