SCRIPTURE READING:
Psalm 98:1-9

Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
The Lord has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
He has remembered his love
and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
make music to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing together for joy;
let them sing before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples with equity.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST, sitting at the right hand of God the Father, serves as ruler and judge of everything and everyone.

Dear Father, I love this “Coronation Hymn,” which was probably written by King David. All glory to the conquering Messiah, the supreme Monarch over all the nations! He is the great Lord, the King! I praise Him for the marvelous Person He is, and for the marvel of salvation, and all the other marvelous works that He gives to the world. He is worthy of all praise and adoration. I pray that I and all of His followers will bow down before Him, submit to His rule and reign, serve Him, live in His righteousness, and proclaim His fame to all people. As the sea resounds, as the rivers clap, and as the mountains sing about Him, may we, His people, resound, and clap and sing about Him. I fervently pray that You will remove all obstacles in the hearts and minds of multitudes of unsaved people we know, so that they too will receive Him as the Lord, the King of their lives. In the majestic name of Jesus, I ask these things. Amen.
