SCRIPTURE READING:
Psalm 24:7-10

Lift up your heads, you gates;
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
the Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, you gates;
lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST has become for us the omnipotent victor who fights and wins all of our battles.

Dear Father, I am thrilled that the Lord Jesus Christ is the answer to the question: “Who is this King of glory?” He is resoundingly the eternal Lord (Owner and Master) of all heaven and earth! I am humbled that He is the self-existent and supreme Almighty God and Lord Jehovah. I exalt Him that ALL the strength, authority, power and might of the Godhead dwells in Him! I join again with the heavenly host in worshiping Him as the Lord Strong and Mighty, the Lord Mighty in Battle, Who is over all powers, death and sin. I am reminded of the third stanza of Chester Allen’s “Praise Him! Praise Him,” which says: “Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer! Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring! Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever. Crown Him! crown Him! Prophet, and Priest, and King. Christ is coming! Over the world victorious; Pow’r and glory unto the Lord belong.” I pray that You will reveal more and more of Christ’s lordship (including His strength and might in battle) to me and many, many other believers, so that we will be in captivated awe of His greatness. Please remove the obstacles in the hearts and minds of the vast number of unsaved people around us, which have kept them from realizing their desperate need to give their lives to the Lord Strong and Mighty, the Lord Mighty in Battle. In His victorious name I plead these things. Amen.
