Matthew 9:35-38
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the master of the fruit of the gospel.
Dear Father, I praise You that it was Your perfect plan of the ages to send Jesus as the supreme Lord of the Harvest, during the past 2000 years and forever. I honor Him that He is in complete control of making salvation available to me and every other person in the world. I am forever grateful that He has the unlimited compassion, willingness to give His body and shed His blood, power to heal ills and forgive sins, absolute wisdom, authority over the powers of darkness, constant prayers for us, ability to plant and water the soil of our hearts, unconditional love, and servant spirit that are necessary for the harvest of all harvests. I give all glory to Him for myself and all the other people who have been “harvested” by Him so far. I pray that all the sowing, fertilizing and watering that He has done (and is still doing) for all the other people who have yet to be harvested, will continue flawlessly. I join the command He gave His disciples in asking that all the workers (including me and my family) that are necessary for the remaining plentiful harvest will be sent into His harvest field. May millions of believers join in this prayer, and in total dedication to the Lord of the Harvest, in Whose name I pray these things. Amen.
