SCRIPTURE READING:
1 Peter 2:4-5

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the strong foundation upon which spiritual life is built.

Dear Father, What a privilege it is to come to Jesus, the Living Stone. I praise Him that He is the Son of the Living God, and “In him was [and is all] life” (John 1:4) from before the beginning of time. Oh, how grateful I am that You raised Him from the dead and He lives so that I and all mankind may have life in Him now and forever. I am reminded again of the wonderful truth Jesus revealed to the Samaritan woman about His life-giving power in John 4:10, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” I am in awe that Jesus gives life to an object which is not normally considered alive, a stone. I rejoice that I and all who receive Jesus as our Savior are like “living stones” being built upon Him, the Living Stone (foundation) “into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood.” I repent for all the times I have rejected Him or tried to build my life upon any other “stone” than the Living Stone, and I pray that You will keep me absolutely dependent upon Him. I pray these things in the name of life, Jesus. Amen.
