SCRIPTURE READING:
Revelation 1:17-18

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the self-existent being, the source of all life.

Dear Father, I can only imagine the depth of awe and fear the Apostle John experienced when he was face-to-face with the glorified Lord Jesus Christ, Who had been crucified and raised from the dead 50 years before, and is now the blazing Living One. Oh, what brilliance and authority the Living One possesses! I join John in profound awe of Jesus as I realize how the Living One supremely fulfills what Jesus declared about Himself in John 10:10b, “I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full.” Thank You so much that all life, ALL THE FULLNESS OF LIFE, is in the Living One alone. I rejoice also to recall the great fulfillment of Jesus’ revelation to Martha in John 11:25-26, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” I pray that You will help me, my family members and all Christ’s followers to have a living faith in the incomparable Living One, and be on our faces (in body and spirit) in His holy presence. I pray these things in the living name of Jesus. Amen.
