SCRIPTURE READING:
John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST illumines mankind to all of God’s truth and life.
Dear Father, All my hope is in Jesus, the One and Only Light of the World. I rejoice that You sent Him to earth to reveal Your transforming truth and glory, illuminate and destroy the works of spiritual darkness, and provide eternal life for mankind. I worship the Light of the World, and I pray that all other believers will continually worship and adore Him. I earnestly pray that Your Spirit will help us to hear and wholly obey 1 John 1:5-7, “This is the message we have heard from him [the Word] and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim we have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” Please help us to put aside any other priorities that have been keeping us from knowing the depths of the Light of the World and following Him at all times, so that we will have all of the light of life! I pray that the Church today will walk so completely in the Light of the World, that unsaved people we know will urgently cry out to receive Him. I pray these things in His splendid name. Amen.
