SCRIPTURE READING:
John 1:1-5, 14a
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST provides all enlightenment and victory for all people.
Dear Father, I am very grateful for Jesus’ powerful declaration in John 12:44-46, that strongly supports today’s name of Him: “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” I exalt Jesus that He is the fullness of all the life and light of the Godhead for all people, and that there is no true light apart from Him. I rejoice that everything in mankind which is in the light—knowledge, integrity, truth, love, wisdom, holiness, purity, grace, mercy, joy, peace, gentleness, humility, forgive-ness, self-control, and more—is from Jesus, Who is the Light of all Man-kind. I worship Him and I want to live in all of His brilliance, cleansing, warmth and revelation. I am exceedingly glad that He cannot be overcome by the darkness. I pray that You will help me to be filled with the Light of all Mankind and be a messenger of Him to everyone You bring into my life. May the Light shine in all darkness in our region and to the ends of the earth. I pray these things in His holy name. Amen.
