Jesus is…
The Last Adam

it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.
Dear Father, I am in awe of Jesus, the Last Adam, Whom You sent from heaven to make the life-giving Spirit available to me and all mankind. Thank You that only the Last Adam can free us from the burden of the sin nature the first Adam brought upon all people. I rejoice that I am free from the penalty of sin, and I have taken on all the characteristics of the Last Adam while I am in my earthly body. And, that one day soon I will share with the Apostle Paul in what he declared in Philippians 3:20-21, “But our citizen-ship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” I praise Jesus and submit every part of my life to Him. I want to bear His likeness completely, and I pray You will put a deep desire for that same relationship with Jesus in the hearts and minds of an increasing number of other believers. May unprecedented hope in Christ arise in us. I pray these things in His blessed name. Amen.
