Jesus is…
The Lamb of God

John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”
Now the Pharisees who had been sent questioned him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
“I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you stands one you do not know. He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’
Dear Father, Thank You so much for sending Your beloved Son, the Lamb of God, to earth. I praise Him that He is the only completely innocent, sacrificial offering that could pay the price of my sins and the sins of every other person who receives Him as their Savior. Just as John the Baptist announced when Jesus approached him, “Look, the Lamb of God,” I pray that millions of believers today will look at the Lamb of God and be over-whelmed with Your love, mercy, grace, peace, meekness, purity, and hope in Him. I pray we will worship and love the Lamb of God for all He is, and talk with one another about His greatness every chance You give us. I pray we will be so filled with love and gratitude for the Lamb of God that unsaved people will regularly ask us to tell them about Him. May the whole world join in singing “Just As I Am” by Charlotte Elliott: (verse 1) “Just as I am, without one plea, But that Thy blood was shed for me, And that Thou bid’st me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come! (verse 2) Just as I am, and waiting not, To rid my soul of one dark blot; To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come! (verse 5) Just as I am, Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; Because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come!” In the sacrificial name of the Lamb. Amen.
