SCRIPTURE READING:
Acts 10:39-43
“We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the ultimate evaluator of the spiritual condition of every human being.
Dear Father, I praise You again for raising Jesus from the dead and for appointing Him as Judge of the Living and the Dead. I am in awe that all the wisdom, justice, righteousness and authority to judge all people dwells in Him. I am forever grateful that He gave His life as Savior/Judge to pardon all who receive Him while we are living, from the penalty of our sins. I can only imagine the day when all who have physically died will stand before Him to receive His final pronouncement of our eternal death or eternal life. I pray that Your Spirit will profoundly awaken me and many other Christ-followers everywhere to the fullness of Who the Judge of the Living and the Dead is, and compel us to boldly preach and testify about Him to one another and to the many unsaved people we know. I pray also that You will put a holy fear and reverence of the Judge of the Living and the Dead in the hearts of all those lost people, so that even the most resistant of them will very soon cry out to Him in repentance. I pray these things in Jesus’ righteous and merciful name. Amen.
