SCRIPTURE READING:
Colossians 1:25-27

I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is all of God’s glorious hope.

Dear Father, I think of a couple of definitions of hope that are so powerfully fulfilled in and through Christ: Hope is “confident expectation.” Hope is “a firm assurance regarding things that are unclear and unknown.” I am filled with amazement and gratitude that once I was without Christ and had no hope, but now, I have the glorious, unsearchable riches of Christ, my Savior and Lord, in me! All praise to Jesus for His glory-filled names, titles, attributes, works, powers, majesty and sacrifice. I am so grateful that I have abounding hope, now and forever, in the One and Only Hope of Glory! I pray for myself, my family and all other believers what Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:18-19a, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” Oh, Father, I believe it is time for us to be consumed in Christ, the Hope of Glory! Please do whatever is necessary to strip all other attractions and affections from us. I pray these things with all hope in the name of Jesus, and for His glory. Amen.
