SCRIPTURE READING:
Acts 2:24-28

But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. David said about him:

“‘I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest in hope,
because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
you will not let your holy one see decay.
You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.’

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the personification of what is sacred.

Dear Father, I am very grateful for this bold declaration by Peter that Jesus is Your Holy One, Whom King David prophesied about in Psalm 16 (and Who has in other passages been called “Messiah, the Holy One of God, Son of God, King, Beloved Son and Anointed One”). I magnify Jesus, Who alone is completely holy—set apart for You—to reveal all of You to mankind, and to give His life as a ransom for us. I rejoice that You raised Your Holy One from the dead (not letting Him see decay), and that we can know the paths of life and be filled with joy in His presence. I pray that Your Spirit will put a consuming “burning” in the hearts of Christ’s followers (especially me) to know everything we possibly can about Your Holy One, and to have an intimate love relationship with Him that overshadows all other passions in our lives. I especially pray You will cleanse us of anything that is keeping us from being holy as He is holy. I ask these things with all my heart, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
