SCRIPTURE READING:
Acts 3:11-15

While the man held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade. When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the standard of absolute purity.

Dear Father, I can only imagine the indescribable holiness and righteousness that Jesus has had with You for all eternity. I am deeply grateful that You sent Him, the Holy and Righteous (just, true and upright) One to earth to pay the price for mankind’s sins, so we can become holy and righteous in Him forever. I grieve that the people of Israel who saw His power and godliness dared to disown and kill Him. I equally grieve that I and so many other people today dare to disown Him. But, I am so very glad that You glorified the Holy and Righteous One through healing the crippled beggar, and Jesus’ many other words and deeds! I pray You will do whatever is necessary in my life, in my family, in all other believers, and in great numbers of unsaved people around us that will cause us to be astonished with the Holy and Righteous One and “come running” directly to Him. Please convict us to repent for all ways we have disowned or dishonored Him. I pray these things in His righteous name. Amen.
