Jesus is…
The High Priest in the Order of Melchizedek

During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.
Dear Father, I honor Jesus that in addition to becoming the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him, He was designated by You as High Priest in the Order of Melchizedek. I note that Melchizedek was King of Salem (King of Peace), priest of the Most High God, a special gift from You, superior to Abraham, and had an unknown beginning and end. Yes, Jesus was “in the order of” (resembled) Melchizedek, but I exalt Him that He is the High Priest, the King of kings Whose kingdom will never end, the “I Am” before Abraham and all people were created, the Beginning and the End, the full indwelling of the Godhead, and far greater than Melchizedek in all ways. I rejoice that Jesus is the High Priest That Completes the Order of Melchizedek. I repent for all the ways I have taken the great Priest and King Jesus for granted, and have not revered and adored Him. Please help me to “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33a), and “remain in” Him (John 15:4a) at all times. All glory to Jesus. I pray these things in His holy name. Amen.
