SCRIPTURE READING:
Isaiah 57:14-15
And it will be said:
“Build up, build up, prepare the road!
Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.”
For this is what the high and exalted One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
“I live in a high and holy place,
but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST was exalted by His Father to the place of highest honor and supremacy in the universe.
Dear Father, Once again I grieve with the prophet Isaiah that the people of Israel had given themselves to idols and turned away from a relationship of love and obedience with You. But, I am very grateful that You reminded Isaiah that the High and Exalted (Lofty) One is always willing to “remove the obstacles out of the way of my people,” so they can return to Him. I praise Jesus that He is the High and Exalted One for all His people, now and forever. I exalt Him Whom You raised from the dead and seated at Your “right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that can be invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way” (Eph. 1:20b-23). I praise Him that He lives in and rules the highest and most exalted place, but He also lives in wonderful and continuous intimacy with every believer “who is contrite and lowly in spirit.” What a wonderful Savior and Lord He is to us. I pray that You will please help me and multitudes of His other believers to be in complete awe of Him as the High and Exalted One, submit every part of our lives to Him, and trust Him to remove all the obstacles in our relationship with Him. And, I pray that great numbers of unsaved people will very soon receive this One Who is great over all other gods. I pray everything in the matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
