SCRIPTURE READING:
Revelation 2:14-17

Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality. Likewise, you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the invisible, supernatural provision of God for His people.

Dear Father, I am very grateful You have provided Jesus, the blessed Hidden Manna, to me and all others who have received Him as our Savior. This name wonderfully strengthens and encourages me, and reminds me of Jesus’ response in John 6:32-35 to people’s questions about why they should believe in Him: “Jesus said to them, ‘Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’ ‘Sir,’ they said, ‘always give us this bread.’ Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’” Thank You that although Christ is “hidden” in heaven from those who have not yet received Him, we believers are wholly nourished spiritually (as through a feast) in Him, now and forever. I pray that You will help me and all other believers to become hungry to consume only the Hidden Manna, and refuse all other pleasures of the world with which we have tried to satisfy our longings. May Jesus no longer be “hidden” to many lost people we know, so they will become ravishingly hungry for Him too. I pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
