SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 6:4-6
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the ultimate gift from the heavenly Father.
Dear Father, I thank You that I have definitely tasted Jesus, the Heavenly Gift. As I continue to taste Your most blessed Heavenly Gift to mankind, I cannot help but think of what King David says in Psalm 34:8a, “Taste and see that the LORD is good.” Oh, the incomparable, boundless goodness of the Godhead that You sent to us in Your Son, the Heavenly Gift! I think again of Jesus telling the Samaritan woman in John 4:10 that He is THE gift from You: “Jesus answered her, ‘If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.’” I never tire of the testament of Your gift of love that Jesus pledges in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” I pray that You will continually help me and all others who have tasted Your Heavenly Gift, to feast on Him and to consciously “live and move and have our being”
