SCRIPTURE READING:
Colossians 1:15-20

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the ultimate head of the Church.

Dear Father, I praise Jesus that He is the undisputed Head of the Body (the Church), all the time, and in every way. Without Him we can do nothing! I bless Him that He knows everything about the Body, is all-wise and all-powerful to lead and care for the Body, created and totally sustains the Body, rules and governs the Body, loves and protects the Body, is the firstborn from among the dead for the Body, and in everything (for the Body and for all Creation), He is supreme. I rejoice that Your fullness dwells in and through the Head of the Body, and that I and all the other parts of His Body can live as one in that fullness. I pray You will convict me and all other members of the Body who have rejected, diminished, disobeyed, or rebelled against our Head, to repent of our wicked ways, and submit completely to His Headship. May what the Apostle Paul stated in Acts 17:28 become the consuming reality for us now: “For in him [the Head of the Body] we live and move and have our being.” I pray these things in His supreme name. Amen.
