The Guarantor of a Better Covenant

SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 7:21-26
but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him:
“The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
‘You are a priest forever.’”
Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.
Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the absolute pledge that God’s new covenant will be fulfilled.
Dear Father, I am very grateful that You swore the oath to Jesus that He is a priest for-ever (the permanent priest), thus becoming THE Guarantor of a Better (New) Covenant between You and mankind. I praise Jesus that as the Guarantor of a Better Covenant He is the everlasting, total security and pledge that all the penalties of the law have been satisfied for those who receive Him as Savior. Hallelujah! I magnify Jesus that He is the only One Who is able to completely save all who come to You through Him, because He always lives to intercede for us! I pray that You will give me and many other believers an intense hunger to know the Guarantor of a Better Covenant more, and that as we know Him more we will increase in our awe of, and gratitude to, Him. Please help us to totally yield to Him and overflow with a deep passion to tell others of His greatness. I pray these things in the sacrificial name of Jesus. Amen.
