SCRIPTURE READING:
Colossian 1:15-20

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the head and heir of all created order.

Dear Father, I am thrilled at Paul’s revelation that Christ is the Firstborn Over All Creation, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.” Hallelujah! I know that Christ being Firstborn Over All Creation does not mean that He was the first created being, (since He has always existed), but that He has always had the rank and preeminence of a firstborn related to all of His creation. I praise Him that He is Head of all Creation, Heir of all Creation, Supreme over all Creation, Lord of all Creation, Ruler of all Creation, Master of all Creation, King of all Creation, and far more than we can imagine! I love what St. Augustine wrote: “Christ is not valued at all unless He be valued above all.” I pray that the Holy Spirit will continually make the Firstborn Over All Creation’s spectacular greatness known to me and the whole Church, so we will value Him above all, and put all our hope in Him. I pray these things in His matchless name. Amen.
