SCRIPTURE READING:
Revelation 1:4b-6

John,

To the seven churches in the province of Asia:

Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits[a] before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the living testimony of Who God is.

Dear Father, I bow before Jesus Christ, Who is the true Faithful Witness, and I try to imagine the unfathomable vastness of His faithfulness. I think of His being the Way and the Truth and the Life, of His being One with You for all eternity, of His being all holiness and wisdom, and of the limitless other characteristics of Jesus that demonstrate His absolute knowledge of You. I praise Jesus that He is entirely reliable, so His followers and all people can totally believe what He says about You and what He does in Your name. I rejoice that Jesus is the Faithful Witness, or Faithful Testimony, of You through all His names, teachings, promises, prayers and prophecies. I love to meditate on what He said in John 8:28-29, “So Jesus said, ‘When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.’” I pray that I and many other believers will give our-selves to constantly growing in our knowledge of, and abandonment to, the Faithful Witness so we will become increasingly faithful witnesses to one another of all He is and all You are. I pray these things in the faithful name of Jesus. Amen.
