SCRIPTURE READING:
1 Peter 4:14-19

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And,

“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”
So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST, Who made His people, also sustains them in all situations.

Dear Father, I worship Jesus, the Faithful Creator of heaven and earth. I marvel that at all times throughout Scripture He demonstrates His absolute faithfulness and devotion to You, to all people, to His teachings, and to the prophecies and promises about Him, including Hebrews 3:6, “But Christ is faithful as a Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.” I rejoice that His faithfulness is an integral part of His being our Creator and the Creator of all things, Who has all Your power, wisdom, authority, creativity, righteousness, understanding and boundless other attributes to fulfill His will in us. Once more, I am deeply strengthened by His promise in Matthew 28:20b, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” I am also grateful that our Creator is so faithful to sustain us in times of tribulation. I pray You will pour into me, my family members and all believers an increasing understanding of the magnificence of our Faithful Creator, so we will commit ourselves totally to Him, and trust Him regardless of what comes into our lives. May we faithfully proclaim the name of Christ and do good for His glory at all times. I pray these things in the faithful name of Jesus. Amen.
