SCRIPTURE READING:
Luke 2:39-40

When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST was mature as a young boy according to the Father’s perfect plan for Him.

Dear Father, I rejoice that while Jesus was a Child He grew and became strong, was filled with wisdom, and Your grace was upon Him. I am in awe how the full-ness of the Godhead was poured into every part of Jesus’ human upbringing, and that Your character and attributes were very evident in Him at an early age. The passage in Proverbs 22:6 applies to the godly influence of the earthly parents You gave Him: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” I praise You that as Jesus was developing as a Child, He received the best possible input from His family and community to fulfill His role as the Son of Man. I honor Jesus at every part of His life (including as a child), in everything He did and said. I pray that I and all other Christian parents today will be like the Child’s parents in training our children (and grandchildren) in the Word, in righteousness, in worship, in prayer, and in obedience to You, so that they will grow as He did. I pray that many multitudes of children who do not have Christian parents or other Christian influences in their lives will miraculously be brought to Jesus, the Child, and open their hearts to salvation in Him. I pray these things in His dear name. Amen.
