SCRIPTURE READING:
Ephesians 2:19-22
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the perfect foundation upon which His Church is built.
Dear Father, I praise Christ Jesus that He is the Chief Cornerstone, upon Whom all of creation, including His Church and His kingdom, are being firmly built. I honor Jesus, the all-secure, all-solid, all-indestructible, all-strong, all-dependable, all-righteous cornerstone that supports and fulfills the promises and prophecies of our faith which were spoken about Him by the ancient apostles and prophets. I shout “Hallelujah” that I and all believers today are part of that building which is being joined together upon the Chief Cornerstone to become a dwelling in which You live by Your Spirit! I pray that You will help us reject all other influences that are enticing us to build our lives upon them. Please help us to build our lives (individually and together) solely upon the Chief Cornerstone. Oh, may we live in His supreme love, righteousness, truth, peace, strength, faith, joy, authority and all else that He is. I pray that our young people especially will not be satisfied unless their lives are built upon the Chief Corner-stone. In Jesus’ strong and sure name I ask these things. Amen.
