SCRIPTURE READING:
John 3:27-30

To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.  He must become greater; I must become less.”

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the beloved and consummate groom for His Church.

Dear Father, I am very grateful that I and all believers are part of the Bride, and the Lord Jesus is our beloved Bridegroom. Hallelujah, we belong to Him. He is the perfect lover, friend, protector, provider, strength, advocate and redeemer. He is our all in all, and we are complete in Him alone. I eagerly wait and listen for Him, and I am full of joy to hear His voice. Please help me, my family members and the whole Church to be completely faithful and devoted to Him, as He is completely faithful and devoted to us. I pray that You will also help us to be prepared for Him like the five wise virgins in Matthew 25 were ready with oil in their lamps when the bridegroom arrived at the wedding banquet. I want more than anything else to attend the banquet with Him, and to be with Him always. I pray, as John the Baptist said, that Jesus, the Bridegroom, will increase in our lives, and we would decrease, for His great glory. Will You please also do whatever is necessary in the hearts and minds of great numbers of unsaved people around us so that they will cry out for Him to be their Bridegroom too. May they not be passed by at this urgent time in history. I ask all these things in Jesus’ lovely name. Amen.
