Jesus is…
The Blessed Hope

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Dear Father, I bow before Jesus, the Blessed Lord of the universe. He supremely exceeds all the synonyms of the word “blessed”: revered, venerated, holy, hallowed, divine, heavenly, sacred, godlike, supernatural and more. I love to meditate on His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, especially John 12:13, “They [the great crowd] took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel!’” Truly, Jesus is the One You blessed before the beginning of time to be the Hope of the world, the fullness of the Hope You have always had for mankind, now and forever. As Paul said in Romans 8:22-25, one day Jesus, the Blessed Hope, will return and consummate that hope: “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” I pray that I, my family members and all other believers will live now in all Jesus is, and eagerly wait for His return. I ask these things in His blessed name. Amen.
