Jesus is…
The Beginning and the End

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
Dear Father, I am so grateful that I can “fix my eyes upon Jesus” (Hebrews 12), the match-less Beginning and the End, from Whom all things have originated, and Who sums up all things. I rejoice with the heavenly host that there is nothing and no one before Him, and there will be nothing and no one after Him. I praise Jesus that He is limitless, and that all my life, now and beyond the end of time, is spiritually new and absolutely secure in His authority and power! I hold onto the powerful phrase in today’s Scripture, “It is done,” and I pray You will constantly remind me that all of creation is “DONE” (finished, completed, fulfilled) in Him! I repent for the times I have not had faith in the Beginning and the End, and have not trusted Him as Lord of my life and of the universe. I pray You will give me the hunger to intimately know the Beginning and the End that King David, Paul, John, Mary, Martha, Isaiah, Daniel, Peter and our other godly ancestors had, that caused them to love and obey Him with all their beings. May the Church today resoundingly proclaim to one another and to all flesh that He is THE “Joy to the World.” I pray these things in His blessed name. Amen.
