Jesus is…
The Author of Life

While the man held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade. When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this
Dear Father, I praise Jesus, the wonderful Author of Life. Hallelujah, that in Him ALL life has always existed (John 1:4)! All honor and gratitude to Him that He created all life in heaven and on earth, including His breathing into mankind to give us physical and spiritual life. I am in awe that without Jesus we have no life, but in Him we have the endless abundance of His life! I thank Jesus that He not only creates and sustains all life, but He also restored the physical lives of Jairus’ daughter, the Nain widow’s son, and His dear friend Lazarus. Most of all, I am grateful that Jesus rose from the dead, so that I and all people can receive eternal life through Him, as Paul describes in Ephesians 2:4-5, “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” I joyfully sing part of another Fanny Crosby hymn in celebration of my life in Jesus: “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. (chorus) This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior, all the day long; This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior, all the day long.” I give myself totally to the Author of Life. All my hope is in Him. I pray these things in the name of Life. Amen.
