Jesus is…
The Atoning Sacrifice for Our Sins

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.
Dear Father, I am extremely grateful that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One is the Atoning Sacrifice for our Sins and the sins of the whole world. I honor Jesus that He is the only One Who is completely holy, and Whose sacrifice could atone for, or appease, the offense of our sins against You. I praise Him that only the shedding of His blood is sufficient to satisfy Your justice. Oh, I thank You so much that You initiated this sacrificial atoning, as 1 John 4:10 says: “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” I also think of Romans 3:25-26 about You choosing Christ for the atonement for Your justice: “God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins commit-ted beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” I pray that You will flood me and all Christians with thanksgiving and praise for the Atoning Sacrifice for our Sins, so that we will overflow with love for and adoration of Him as we speak to one another. In His atoning name I pray these things. Amen.
